Your Bio

Welcome to the O Healthy Mountains' Appalachian Experience, your peaceful oasis on the web. When it comes to the healing aspects of nature, less distraction is better. Social networking buttons have been left out of this area. Feel free to browse and loose yourself in the calming feelings the images provoke. They may be comfortingly familiar, like the wild roses you've never stopped to smell or unfamiliar like the many bizarre looking mushrooms of the Appalachian wilderness. O Healthy Mountains (OHM) is a business largely concerned with bringing about a greater appreciation of the natural environment, how it interacts with our health and, to some extent, how we affect its health. This is approached with a mountain-centric point of view, as mountains can be seen as keystones of a planet which is three fourths ocean. A healing and informative DVD on Central Appalachian Mountains, the smallest geographical portion of the Appalachians including parts of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee, is being upgraded to the second edition. In the interim, a more generous selection of photography and some excerpts from the DVD are being made available on this website. Most of the images can be easily ordered as prints or digitally downloaded. As our planetry natural resources run out, sadly, these scenes are becoming rarer. Acid rain has already severely damaged much of our northern Appalachian forests. OHM's images are un-enhanced making them scientific as well as art and many are available in raw format. In a photoshop world you may find special value in seeing something real. Adjusting your computer's brightness and contrast may be necessary to fully appreciate the natural color qualities. I hope you enjoy the informative OHM galleries of of Earth's largest remaining, continuous, broad leaf, temperate, forest.
